This role would suit someone who has completed an initial period of training. This person will work in the adult discipleship team, with a focus on one of the ministry areas, to enable ongoing discipleship among that group's leaders and members.
- Meet with Life Group Leaders and Members to read the Bible 1-1. - Engage in discipleship and training within one of the Life Group central meetings. - Support the administration of Life Groups, including, for example, dealing with new applicants. - Deliver Bible talks and training material where in appropriate settings. - Work alongside the 20s & 30s committee (for one day per week) to shape and deliver their programme, including the Connect Weekend. This will include attending the majority of their events. - Represent the 20s & 30s ministry or their Life Group ministry at prayer gatherings and 8am zoom prayer meetings when required. - Play an active role in a congregational team. This will include regular attendance at this congregation on a Sunday, leading services (if appropriate), and leading the congregation in welcoming newcomers and encouraging fellowship. The Discipleship Worker is expected to play a full part in the life of the staff team and the church.
Essential: - A committed Christian in full sympathy with the evangelical stance and mission of All Souls - A passion for discipleship with a track record of fostering this through Bible-reading and prayer - Servant-hearted, self-motivated, positive can-do attitude and forward thinking - Organised, competent using IT and with a focus on timely delivery and excellent communication skills - A team player willing to seek advice and able to lead and envision the team of volunteers - Equipped with strong administrative, self-management and delegation skills - A commitment to the highest standards of safeguarding practice. - Completion of a 2-year ministry apprentice programme, such as The Cornhill Training Course, Relay, or an equivalent programme - To join All Souls Church as your regular place of worship. Desirable: - Further theological or training - Experience in using Google-Suite applications - Familiarity with database systems - Comfortable leading from the front and delivering training
