Farnham Baptist Church (GU9 7HA)

Date posted: 26th October 2022
Application ends: 15th January 2023

We are a church committed to Bible teaching and Biblical evangelism, situated in the centre of Farnham in Surrey. We are currently full at our 10am service with about 160 people attending and a growing number of young families.

Responsibilities

We would envisage that the right candidate would share in the full breadth of gospel ministry. At the same time, there will be opportunities for someone to develop areas of responsibility according to their passion and personal gifting.

Required skills

We are looking for a minister of godly character who: Loves God | Loves God's word | Loves the gospel | Loves people and loves the local church | Believes that when God's word is faithfully taught, and proclaimed lives are changed | Is a gifted leader, able to work with a team and with the ability to train and equip others | Is called to gospel ministry, to work alongside our Senior Minister and would consider someone with previous experience in Christian ministry or someone finishing theological training.

Other

Although we have a membership of 229, some of our members are involved in a church plant on the other side of Farnham. We have a regular congregation of 160 and are currently full at our morning service, with a growing number of new families. We welcome applications from those who have the right to live and work in the UK. The role would be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. The emphasis of Sunday ministry is Christ exalting expository preaching. We talk regularly about building a local church around the gospel and engage in several activities designed to develop relationships with the local community. These range from our shopper's creche and toddler group, to children and young people's ministry, welcoming Ukrainian refugees and working with seniors. In terms of the distinctives and emphasis of the existing ministry, we are reformed in soteriology; complementarian in our understanding of gender; not overtly charismatic, though not cessationist; we are credo baptist and congregationalist in polity. The church subscribes to a statement of faith, a link for which can be via our webpage www.farnhambaptist.org.uk. We are able to offer a stipend according to experience and housing. If you are interested in exploring further, you may submit a covering email and CV or request an initial conversation with the Senior Minister via recruitment@farnhambaptist.org.uk
