As the Deputy Manager, you will act as a key point of contact between ASLAN and All Souls to ensure operational alignment and be responsible for casting the vision of ASLAN to church members to ensure a steady pipeline of volunteers from the church body.
This is a newly created role designed to support the Head of ASLAN in overseeing the day-to-day delivery of ASLAN's services. You will contribute in supporting with the development and implementation of ASLAN's vision and strategy, overseeing of outreach and supervision of all work with guests, partnerships and relationships, and be involved in personal and professional development. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Helps to set and maintain a healthy work culture, including among relationships within the ASLAN team and between the team and volunteers - Leads the ASLAN sleep site visiting team, developing the vision for the ministry and supporting the team leads to further develop the programme - Line manages some members of the ASLAN staff team, supporting them to carry out their duties, which includes regular one-to-ones, appraisals and objective setting - Responsible for ensuring volunteers have adequate support in place, (pastoral and otherwise), for their respective roles - Helps to embed systems to support and train team leaders and volunteers in delivering a high quality service including collecting, entering and reporting data - Ensures that ministry takes place in a safe way, following best practice for health and safety and other ASSTC policies
- University graduate or equivalent - Excellent interpersonal skills and pastoral care experience - Experience of working or volunteering within the sector - Ability to effectively manage complex interpersonal and organisational dynamics with wisdom, tact and sound judgement, upholding professional boundaries and enabling cohesive working across teams - Whole life disciple wanting to know Christ more and grow in grace, obedience and Christ-likeness themselves - Resilient, with an ability to handle pressured situations with calm, tact and wisdom - Proven ability to build bridges and maintain strong, productive relationships between distinct but overlapping organisations (e.g., ASSTC and All Souls Church) - A deep understanding of, and respect for, the specific Anglican and Evangelical heritage of All Souls Church, with the ability to "speak the language" of the congregation
