Date posted: 5th February 2024
Application ends: 28th February 2024

Carrubbers Christian Centre is an independent evangelical church based in the historic city centre of Edinburgh. For starting in September 2024, we have one opening for a female Ministry Apprentice.

Responsibilities

The programme runs full-time for two years from September to August. Ministry Apprentices attend the Cornhill Training Course in Glasgow for two days a week (Y1: Mondays and Tuesdays; Y2: Wednesdays and Thursdays). This will lay a foundation for biblical understanding and handling, which is essential for future ministry. During the rest of the week they will be immersed in the life and ministry of the church, participating in in-house training (with a Y2 Ministry Apprentice and Y4 Pastor in Training), receiving 1-2-1 mentorship from a female member of staff, as well as serving in women's ministry, bible teaching (in appropriate settings in a complementarian church), pastoral care and practical ministry.

Required skills

- A believing and practising Christian - A commitment to Carrubbers' Statement of Faith (https://www.carrubbers.org/about/us.php#beliefs) and understanding of complementarian convictions about women in ministry - A desire to grow towards longer term Christian ministry

Other

The Ministry Apprenticeship is a voluntary training position, so we are not able to provide VISAs and Apprentices are responsible for raising their own funding support. We encourage Apprentices to apply to Christian trusts to secure funding (for example the Bonar Trust: www.bonartrust.org), as well as to develop a network of personal supporters to partner with them in gospel ministry (in prayer and/or finance). Carrubbers will provide a contribution towards Cornhill fees. If you are interested in applying for a Ministry Apprenticeship, contact David Nixon on David.Nixon@carrubbers.org Please supply a covering letter and CV. Interviews will be held in spring 2024.
