Community worker with a focus on facilitating creative and restorative groups of a broad practical nature, with a view to introducing people to the God of the Bible - the creator and restorer of humanity.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to work alongside the existing church family and leadership team - to engage the local community by continuing and developing existing work; generating new ideas of a broadly creative and restorative nature; and facilitating groups in our shed facility and existing buildings. With the ultimate aim of communicating the God of the Bible - the creator and restorer of humanity - and introducing people to the church.

Required skills

Experience of mission / outreach work and ministry in a church setting. Experience of recruiting and leading volunteers Ability to communicate effectively with a wide cross section of the community, especially those with no church connection. Personal Qualities Committed Christian with a live church connection A passion for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and Gods word to non-Christians on the front lines. Gospel communication skills (verbal as well as non-verbal) A passion for worshipping the God of the bible through all of life. Ability to socialise and relate interpersonally to different types of people from different social backgrounds. Gritt and determination to keep going with gospel ministry when results are not immediately forthcoming. Being a team player, knowing how to encourage team working. Ability to work with minimal supervision, using own initiative.

Other

Theological education and / or training either at university or college level. Part time post (0.6, 22 hours pw), £22,000, is funded for 18 months with a possibility to extend to 24 months . Hours include antisocial in evenings and weekends, based in the church building with potential for limited home working.
