Christchurch is an active, growing church in North Herts, committed to expository Bible teaching, evangelistic outreach and discipling believers to maturity in Christ. We are looking for an Assistant Minister to join our team.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Minister is to: - support the Senior MInister in preaching, evangelistic and pastoral leadership and care to the congregation, staff and lay ministers - take an active role, alongside the Senior Minister and our Youth & Children's Minister, in the church's activities on Sundays and during the week

Required skills

a) A godly man - A godly man who reflects and models the life of faith in Christ, marked by humility, integrity and self control. With a genuine love of Scripture, he is close to Christ in prayer and is of open and natural character, able to empathise with and encourage others in the ups and downs of their Christian walk. b) Preaching the Word - An able enthusiastic and engaging Bible expositor, who can effectively communicate Bible truths, applying and connecting them to hearers' lives, both from the puplit, in small groups and one to one. c) Evangelism and Discipleship - A dynamic, winsome man with proven inter-personal skills, who naturally interacts and relates well with all ages and stages of spiritual maturity. He can work with the Staff and Leadership teams to develop and implement a clear vision and strategy in all areas of church ministry for teaching, discipling, growth and gospel outreach. d) Willingness to serve - A godly worker, able to engage and partner with the elders to oversee and steer/drive the implementation of agreed resolutions. Willing to be flexible in supporting the senior and youth & children's ministries, as well as mid-week volunteer-led outreach where the need arises
