Christchurch Baldock is seeking an Administrator to support the Elders, Leaders and staff in the administration of the church as a member of the leadership team. Salary: £12,798 p.a. Hours: 20 per week (0.5 FTE) Contact: Chris@cc-b.uk 07847 388 026.

Responsibilities

Job purpose Support the Elders, Leaders and staff in the administration of the church as a member of the leadership team. Core Tasks - Maintain the day to day running of the church office, responding to enquiries by phone and email and main-taining church letterhead and footer. - Attend staff and leadership meetings, taking minutes and actions and contributing to planning, discussion and prayer - Manage the hire of venues as the first point of contact - Produce and oversee volunteer rotas, supporting team leaders and communicating with volunteers Internal communications and publications - Prepare and produce weekly newsletter and notices, occasional handouts and fliers, letters, prayer messages, contact book, maildrops and other publications both printed and digital - Maintain and update the church notice board and supply of paperwork Church Management System, data and other online presence - Maintain church management system (Elvanto), including databases, consents, membership list etc. - Maintain church G suite, Youtube channel and Calendar - Perform role of Data Protection Manager maintaining compliance with GDPR - Maintain the church's Copyright and Music licences, including associated tasks Events - Liaise with the Church Secretary in preparing and running annual AGM and October business meetings. - Support the planning and running of occasional events, eg Holiday club, Baldock Fair, Weekend away Other - Regular purchasing and banking tasks - Specified Health and Safety tasks: maintaining first aid kits, accident books and record of qualified first aiders - Be regular in attendance at church services and prayer meetings where possible. - Attend appropriate training as approved by your line manager - Undertake any other duties in line with aims of the role and in discussion with your line manager Hours: 20 hours a week, flexible apart from the following fixed hours: - Staff meeting – Monday afternoon 1-3pm and occasionally at other times - Approx 6-weekly leaders meeting – Saturday morning 9-11am - Biennial business meeting – 12-1pm Sunday afternoon in April and October - Attendance at services is not automatically part of your paid working hours. This is a hybrid role: working from home and in-person attendance at meetings/services are both essential. An enhanced DBS check is required to be in place before undertaking this role.

Required skills

Key skills - Excellent written and verbal communication - Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Experience in email systems, digital communication tools and publication layout would be desirable. Tech- nical skills can be acquired on the job through training, eg specific Church Management software. Personal attributes and strengths - Flexibility, efficiency and initiative - Ability to set priorities, good time management and organisation - Attention to detail, good forward planning and problem-solving skills - Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills Spiritual qualities As a member of the leadership team, this is a spiritual appointment not merely a functional one. There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the individual be a practising Christian, in sympathy with the Mission statement and ethos of Christchurch Baldock. They will be pursuing Christian maturity in their own life and encouraging it in others.
