We seek a Youth Worker to oversee ministry amongst 11-18s, working prayerfully with a range of leaders to support evangelism and discipleship amongst young people, in partnership with parents.
Key responsibilities include: - Evangelism and discipleship of a community of 50-80 young people through a ministry of word and prayer. - Running our regular midweek and Sunday youth groups with a combination of fun activities and high-quality Bible input, along with a weekend away for each of the two groups. - Recruiting, training, encouraging, mentoring and developing our team of youth leaders - Fostering partnership with parents - Maintaining excellent standards in safeguarding. - Involvement in another area of Bible ministry within the church - Optionally, speaking at events for local schools, connecting with the wider youth ministry scene, developing resources
These include: - Spiritually and personally mature - Able to relate well to young people, their parents and team members - Hardworking and willing to work unsociable hours when necessary - Able to understand and teach God's word in a way that is faithful and engaging - Organised, capable of balancing and wisely prioritising a diverse workload.
The role is well-suited to someone who is considering ministry long-term, who has some basic training and experience, and would like more of that before undertaking further training. This is a permanent position. Salary will be set according to prior experience but is expected to be in the range of £25,246 per annum. Accommodation allowance or accommodation will also be provided. An Occupational Requirement exists for the post-holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
