A full or part-time position for someone with a passion for reaching out to young people and families, introducing them to Jesus and discipling.
Responsibilities
To lead and develop activities with children, young people and families supported by volunteers and so help fulfil our longing to see children grow in faith and the number of families in church increase. Main Responsibilities: - Plan, develop and lead youth work for Primary age children on a Monday evening. - Liaise with the parents/ carers of the children in the youth groups. - Co-ordinate and take an active role in leading Sunday morning activities for 0-18 years. - Develop youth work for teenagers. We currently run a monthly group for 11-18 year olds, but would love to see this work grow. - To take a leading role in our annual Holiday Bible Club. - Work with the Pastor to participate and/or lead some church services, particularly those aimed at families. - Oversee the process of Church DBS checks. Other possible responsibilities (to be negotiated): - Prepare and lead Collective Worship in local primary schools. - Preaching/ teaching in church services and Bible studies. - Take part in services in local residential homes.
Required skills
- Personal Christian faith and acceptance of the Bible as God's word. - A Genuine Occupational Requirement is for full agreement with the church's basis of faith which is aligned to FIEC. - Some experience of young people's work desirable. - Ability to co-ordinate and support a team of volunteers - Good communication skills, both written and oral - Ability to assist, encourage and mentor children and young people to grow in their faith - Ability to engage with parents/ carers and whole families - Good understanding of Safeguarding, particularly within a church setting

Terms: Hours: negotiable, but between 15 and 40hr/week incl. Sundays Salary: negotiable approx. £12,000 - 32,000 pa. depending on hours and experience. Two year contract with expectation of renewal. Training: personal development is important and we will support this Responsible to: the Pastor and Leadership Team
