Associate Pastor: Rising Generations

Come and join our team to lead and develop the growing under 18s work at St Nicholas Bristol! This is an exciting new senior position in our leadership team, overseeing the vision, strategy and core team of Rising Generations at St Nicks.

Responsibilities

Work with the senior team to sustain and grow the Rising Generations in our church, and their families. Lead the Rising Generations ministry along with a team of paid staff, LDY (Leadership Development Year) interns and volunteers. Explore creative and innovative ways to reach the rising generation with the good news of Jesus. Oversee and manage our current ministries so that they continue to thrive and grow. Inspire and motivate our church family to be volunteers on the Rising Generations team. Train and support the volunteer teams so that they thrive in their roles and give the best to all the young people. Line manage Youth and Kids Pastors and City Centre Youth Chaplains. Manage the Rising Generations budget. Ensure appropriate safeguarding practice is followed and maintained. Ensure effective administration is maintained in all aspects of the work.

Required skills

Proven experience (of 3 and years in Kids/Youth ministry and/or a church leadership team. Experience in line-management of church staff and volunteers. Passion for seeing children and young people grow spiritually in the love and worship of Jesus and in their love for one another and their community. Ability to engage and inspire children and young people, build trust and gain respect. Able to prioritise and manage competing demands and delegate effectively. Setting and leading a vision with a strategy. Trustworthy, able to deal with confidential situations and information. Self-starter able to work on own initiative, to identify problems and find solutions quickly. Experience of budget and project management.
