Associate Pastor: Worship and Prayer

Come and join our team to lead and develop the worship and prayer life of St Nicholas Bristol! This is an exciting new senior position in our leadership team, overseeing the vision, strategy and core team of Worship and Prayer at St Nicks.

Responsibilities

Work with the senior team to help set a culture of worship and prayer as the foundation for all we do as a Church. Lead the worship and prayer core teams alongside paid staff, core volunteers and LDY interns. Explore creative and innovative ways to engage the church in worship and prayer in line with where God is leading us as a Church. This will include responsibility for the vision and content of our 24/7 prayer room. Inspire and motivate our church family to be volunteers on the worship and prayer teams, and train and support existing volunteers so that they thrive in their roles. Ensure that the worship and prayer is effectively resourced across all ministry areas, including Sundays, special services, Alpha and other events. Manage the worship and prayer budgets.

Required skills

Proven experience (of 3+ years) in Worship ministry and/or a church leadership team. Experience in line-management of church staff and volunteers and pastoring of groups and individuals. Passion for seeing people encounter Jesus and deepen their faith through worship and prayer. Setting and leading a vision with a strategy. Experience in leading worship from an instrument and equipping others to grow in leadership and musicality. Able to prioritise and manage competing demands and delegate effectively. Trustworthy, able to deal with highly confidential situations and information. Self-starter able to work on own initiative, to identify problems and find solutions quickly. Experience of budget and project management.
