Do you have experience of teaching the Bible to children? Would you love to oversee a ministry where children learn and grow in their faith? If so, this role could be for you. We're recruiting for a Children's worker. The role is full time.

Responsibilities

Overseeing and Delivering Programmes for under 11s Delivering children's talks in the morning service Setting a vision for the direction of the children's ministry Taking responsibility for the delivery of the Sunday groups for under 11s; this will involve delegating to and supporting interns and volunteers and overseeing materials Strengthening, growing and developing the ministry by encouraging and building-up the existing volunteer's teams within the church. Training the leaders who are running children's work within the church Modelling Christian life to children and young people Exploring the potential for new ministries Safeguarding In cooperation with the Director of Operations and Development, ensuring that the Safeguarding Policy of Christ Church Mayfair is kept up to date and implemented Ensuring as far as possible that the work with under 11s is carried out in as safe a manner as possible Oversight and Management of Events for Families

Required skills

Experience of teaching the Bible and Bible-handling skills to children. We have around seventy 0-11 year olds in Christ Church Mayfair A committed Christian and cheerful servant, willing to be fully part of the church family attending Sunday services, monthly prayer meetings etc A careful attention to detail and an ability to prioritise and use initiative to meet deadlines Ability to lead by example in godly character, humility and servanthood Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written communication; a high standard of English A desire to reach others with the gospel Ability to demonstrate pastoral sensitivity with families An ability to handle pressurised situations with tact and wisdom, flexibility and the ability to multitask Ability to delegate and manage a team of forty volunteers A good "team player", happy to work under instruction, but also capable of working on their own and making unsupported decisions where circumstances dictate Agreement with the core doctrinal beliefs of Christ Church Mayfair as set out here: https://christchurchmayfair.org/our-beliefs
