Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to help to equip and train a well established church family to reach out and build up with the gospel, including the many young families moving to the area, deepening our youth and children's ministry, and training leaders to humbly serve. We are a friendly evangelical Anglican church in a diverse and vibrant area of East London which is seeking to be true to its name – we are passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ, loving one another as Christ has loved us, and reaching out to Leyton with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Required skills

- A love for God's word and confidence that God uses His word to do His work in His world - A Christ-like love for people with a humble desire to serve and disciple them - A passion for and ability in enabling people to make Jesus known in the local area and beyond - A gift for teaching and training others through God's word, faithfully and effectively, with grace, wisdom and empathy - A transparent godliness in line with the Bible and a prayerful dependence on Christ - Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills - Highly organised, with the ability to both take initiative and work well in a team - Formal qualifications of theological college training and/or a completed a church ministry apprenticeship scheme and/or equivalent significant experience relevant to the role

Other

This is advertised as a full-time role. We would however be prepared to consider more experienced applicants who wish to undertake the role on a part time basis. We are aiming to appoint the right candidate as soon as possible, so early application is encouraged. Applications will be considered as they are received and shortlisting and interviews will happen on a rolling basis. For a copy of the job description, for any questions about the role and to apply, please email Philip Brentford, Vicar: philip.brentford@christchurchleyton.org.uk.
