Assistant Pastor

2-3 year appointment, starting August/September 2023 (or earlier by arrangement) to work with lead pastor and staff team, suiting someone who has studied in Bible or Theological College with a heart to reach the Republic of Ireland for Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

Preach and teach the bible regularly; oversee and develop Sunday evening congregation, student and young adult ministry, help in discipleship and training for Christian service and evangelism (including apprentices or pastors-in-training), and with lead pastor, pastoral care, evangelism, administration and organisation.

Required skills

We will endeavour to develop and use the particular gifts of the appointee. However we expect the applicant to have aptitude for and some experience in: - Handling and teaching the Bible accurately and effectively - Serving in a local church context - Training and equipping others in Christian service, including leading Bible study groups and discipling others one to one - Working as a member and/or leader of a team - Administration and management of others

Other

Applicants are expected to have a clear evangelical faith and baptistic convictions, and to be hard-working and self-motivated. They must be a mature, prayerful, gospel-hearted believer who strives to set a model for others. Experience and understanding of the Irish church scene and Irish culture is desirable but not obligatory.
