Assistant Pastor

Assistant Pastor, from Autumn 2022 (or later by arrangement). A 2 year extendible training role for people with a heart to serve the Lord long-term in the Republic of Ireland. Suits someone who has studied at Bible or Theological College.

Responsibilities

To preach and teach the bible regularly To oversee and develop the Sunday evening congregation To oversee and develop the Student Ministry To help in the discipleship, mentoring and training of others for Christian service and evangelism (including the Ministry Trainee Apprenticeship Scheme –'MTS') To act as assistant to the Lead Pastor in the areas of general pastoral care, the evangelism programme, administration and organisation.

Required skills

Applicants are expected to have a clear evangelical faith and baptistic convictions, to be hard-working and self-motivated. They must be a mature, prayerful, gospel-hearted believer who strives to set a model for others. We also expect the applicant to have some aptitude for and experience in: -Handling and teaching the Bible accurately and effectively -Serving in a local church context -Training and equipping others in Christian service, including leading Bible study groups and discipling others one to one -Working as a member and/or leader of a team -Administration and management of others Experience and understanding of the Irish church scene and Irish culture is desirable but not obligatory.
