Join our church team as a Church Administrator from September 2026. Support services, events, communications, safeguarding and administration. We're seeking an organised, proactive Christian with excellent communication and digital skills.
The role includes responsibility for a wide range of administrative and operational tasks, including: Church Operations -Coordinate the weekly planning and administration of Sunday services. -Ensure volunteer teams and serving rotas are organised and communicated effectively. -Oversee the smooth running of Sunday services from an operational perspective. -Manage church communications, including weekly updates and other congregational announcements. -Respond to general enquiries and maintain day-to-day administrative systems. Administration -Maintain accurate records using ChurchSuite, including contact information, calendars, events, rotas, and children's records. -Process expenses and assist with financial administration, including Xero reconciliations and Gift Aid claims. -Coordinate annual renewals, licences, and other compliance requirements. -Keep administrative processes organised and up to date. Events -Provide administrative leadership for key church events throughout the year, including church weekends away, day events, and member meetings. -Coordinate bookings, registrations, communication, budgets, and logistics. -Work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure events are well organised and delivered effectively. Communications & Design -Manage the church's social media channels and help maintain an engaging online presence. -Create graphics and promotional materials using Canva. -Liaise with website volunteers to ensure information remains current and accurate. -Support the communication of church events and ministries through digital and printed media. Safeguarding & Compliance -Administer DBS applications and safeguarding records. -Coordinate safeguarding training and policy reviews. -Support the church in maintaining good governance and compliance with relevant procedures.
-Exceptionally organised with excellent attention to detail. -Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. -A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. -Comfortable using digital systems and willing to learn new software. -Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. -Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt as priorities change. -Passionate about serving the local church through excellent administration. -The church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and complete safeguarding training appropriate to the role.
As this role plays an integral part in supporting the ministry and mission of the church, there is an Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for the successful applicant to be a committed Christian. The successful applicant will be expected to: -Demonstrate a personal Christian faith consistent with the beliefs and values of the church. -Be in agreement with the church's Statement of Faith. -Be actively involved in the life of a local evangelical church. -Support and contribute to the vision, mission, and ministry of the church in both their work and conduct. Other Desirable skills: -Previous administrative or operations experience. -Experience coordinating volunteers. -Experience working within a church, charity, or not-for-profit organisation. -Familiarity with ChurchSuite, Xero, Canva, or similar software.
