Minister

Grace Church is a congregation in the Stobswell area of Dundee, part of the Didasko Presbytery. On a typical Sunday we have around 90 adults and 25 kids. We meet at 10:30am in our church building, located one mile east of Dundee city centre.

Responsibilities

Lead in the week by week preaching of the Word of God Teaching of the Word of God in other contexts such as leading corporate worship, devotions, small groups, one to one discipleship and applying it to pastoral situations. Determine church priorities and future planning, given the specific gifting, needs and opportunities of the congregation. Recruit, train and develop elders and the key ministry leads in the church, equipping them to lead and train others in ministry Undertake key pastoral responsibilities such as visits, meetings, , funerals and weddings Carry out presbytery duties as required within Didasko

Required skills

We are seeking a man who will: Have a vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ, in accordance with the stated charitable aims of Grace Church Dundee. (There is an occupational requirement for the postholder to be a committed Christian.) Experience in frequently preaching the Bible Hold to the authority of Scripture, be able to adhere to the Didasko Fellowship Beliefs and Covenant and accept the Westminster Confession of Faith as his subordinate Standard of Faith Be aligned with the vision, mission and ministry philosophy of Grace Church Dundee Have demonstrable strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds Have experience of leading ministry within a church context, demonstrating wisdom and maturity, being able to recount experiences when asked to do so Have a collaborative spirit and a record of working well as a team member He will be ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament within a presbyterian denomination recognized and affirmed by the Didasko. If not, be able to fulfil the requirements to become ordained by the Didasko presbytery.
