Gloddaeth ("Glod") Holidays is an exciting ministry sharing the good news of Jesus with thousands of young people each year through our residential camps & schools ministry. The Team Leader exercises spiritual leadership for the work of the Glod team.
This is an exciting time for Glod and so this role will involve both leading the current Glod work and also taking a lead in shaping the future direction of Glod. Leading the Glod Work: - Praying for the work of Glod and people in schools connected with it. - Pastoring and leading the Glod Staff Team - Planning and leading Camps and other residential events throughout the year including leading the spiritual programme on these events - Visiting schools to support Christian work in those schools and develop links with Glod - Encouraging personal friendship with Jesus by teaching the Bible as required through talks and Bible studies - Working with the Glod Committee to get input from parents, teachers, leaders and other supporters of the Glod work. - Developing gospel partnerships with Christian parents, local churches and other Christian organisations - Training Volunteer Leaders to lead camps and be involved in schools and wider gospel ministry - Identifying and nurturing emerging Leaders at school and university levels - Overseeing compliance with the Trust's policies including the Safeguarding Policy and promoting and modelling best practice in these areas - Developing partnerships with Headteachers and senior staff through individual contacts and networks - Sitting on the Executive Committee of the Titus Trust - Working with Trust's fundraising team to identify and nurture donors and potential donors in the Glod area including meeting with donors on behalf of the Trust Leading strategic discussions about the future of Glod: - Working with the Trustees, (often through the Link Trustee(s)), on the development of the strategic direction of Glod - Consulting with church leaders, teachers, parents and other stakeholders to ensure the future direction of Glod meets the needs and opportunities in the schools in the North of England - Planning and implementing agreed changes to structures and ways of work in conjunction with the trustees - Leading Glod and in particular the staff team through the agreed changes.
Skills/Capabilities - proven track record of leading volunteer teams - an ability to understand current attitudes in schools and young people so that the gospel can be presented shrewdly with no unnecessary offence - faithful and engaging teacher of the Bible - competence in administration and in IT skills - ability to manage staff well - willingness to work in partnership with trustees and with other staff across the Trust Qualification/Experience - experience of management in ministry or school setting - experience of developing and implementing strategic plans - experience of schools/youth ministry - formal theological education or equivalent Core Traits - seeking to grow in Christ likeness through a commitment to personal prayer, Bible study and integrity - a style of Biblical leadership characterised by the Titus Trust Values and shaped by grace, gentleness, humility and servant-heartedness - experience of and sympathy with conservative evangelical convictions and practices regarding the equality and differentiation between men and women in life and ministry - a heart for reaching young people with the gospel and for discipling them towards maturity - an understanding of the importance of working in partnership with others across the Glod region - an ability to cast a vision and draw others into it - an openness to change and a willingness to lead others through a time of change - actively involved in the ministry of the local church - an awareness of the Trust's commitment to safeguarding and a willingness to safeguard others
