Full-time £30000-£33000 / year
Trinity Church Oxford (OX1 3EY)
Date posted: 18th May 2026
Application ends: 30th May 2026
This is a dual-purpose post, dividing approximately equally between leading the operational life of the church and a structured programme of pastoral formation — including preaching, discipleship, and one day per week of theological study and training.
What the role involves - Leading and developing the operational and administrative systems of the church - Working with the church treasurer and finance volunteers on financial oversight - Governance and compliance responsibilities (safeguarding, GDPR, Charity Commission) - Preaching approximately ten times per year initially, growing over time - Membership of the student ministry team and involvement in one-to-one discipleship - Theological study and in-house formation, with regular supervision and mentoring from the pastoral team - Attendance at external ministry conferences
What we are looking for - A committed Christian in full agreement with the FIEC Doctrinal Basis, able to uphold the church's policies and practices including believers' baptism - Demonstrable experience and ability as an operational leader - Clear gifts and calling towards gospel ministry and preaching - Integrity, warmth, and a servant heart - Willingness to be shaped and supervised over the course of the appointment
The post is offered in the first instance as a single full-time role, but we are willing to consider applications for either half on a part-time basis. Please note that the pastor-in-training element carries a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post-holder be male, in accordance with our convictions about pastoral ministry and the FIEC Doctrinal Basis. The operations element is open to all. Applications can only be considered from those who are UK citizens or who otherwise have a right to work in the UK. You will need to be able to declare wholehearted acceptance of the FIEC doctrinal basis and agreement with the FIEC ethos statements.
