An Associate Minister for Women to serve as a senior member of the St Michael's staff team.

Responsibilities

We long to see women grow in their faith growing deep roots and bearing much fruit. We believe that such growth comes about as God's Word is prayerfully and lovingly brought to bear in people's lives. As we speak God's Word, the Spirit brings life and transformation. The primary purpose of this role is to take a lead in the discipleship and training of women within the church family. This will involve: - supporting, equipping and training women from across the church in leading bible studies and one-to-one bible-based discipleship. - providing one-to-one mentoring and discipleship, small group bible studies and prayer ministry. - as agreed with the Vicar, to line-manage, support and equip other members of staff and possibly Ministry Trainees. - overseeing occasional and regular women's events (e.g. breakfasts, dinners, the Co-Mission Women's morning). - working alongside Simon Pedley, Associate Vicar, and the Care Team to ensure pastoral needs are appropriately supported and cared for. As a senior member of the team, the role would include: - working with the Vicar and other senior team members to advise and support on all aspects of our vision, mission and strategy. - taking responsibility for one of the five main areas of ministry, most likely 'membership'. About you... Conviction The role holder will be: - First and foremost a disciple of Jesus Christ. - Committed to prayerful, gospel-centred, bible-based ministry, sharing our min- istry DNA. - In agreement with the statement of faith included below.

Required skills

We are looking for someone who is: - A gifted and proven bible teacher in a one-to-one, small group and wider setting. - Able to lead or co-lead in corporate gatherings and public ministry. - Able to demonstrate a love for people and an ability to show them Christ through their life and teaching. - Passionate about raising up workers from within the church family: training, equipping and releasing them for women's ministry (including evangelism, discipleship and pastoral care). - Able to multiply ministry by training others in bible-handling, small group leadership and pastoral care. - Committed to evangelism and will particularly seek to provide opportunities for women to invite their non-Christian friends to hear the gospel faithfully and relevantly explained. - Concerned for the outsider and able to help those on the fringe of church life to explore the Christian faith and experience life in Christian community. - Organised and reliable, able to prioritise and finish tasks within an appropriate time frame, and in response to deadlines. - A personable and good communicator, both in written and spoken form, and adept at managing conflict and pastoral sensitivities. - Able to work under pressure with a keen eye for detail. - Willing to think creatively to find good solutions. - Flexible and gracious enough to 'muck in' as and when required. - The role is conditional upon a completed DBS check. You will need to be willing to take part in whatever safeguarding training is required. - There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a com- mitted Christian.
