We are seeking to appoint a Families and Schools Worker to: 1. Help the church reach out to local families and young people. 2. Help disciple children and young people in partnership with their parents. 3. Coordinate the church's input to local schools.
The Families and Schools Worker will work in conjunction with our team to deliver the following. 1. At St Matthew's Church - Support parents to help make disciples of children and young people. - Co-ordinate the Sunday ministry to 0-18s and be ready to lead and equip our teams. This will include choosing and selecting appropriate teaching material for all our groups. - Support the clergy in the preparation and delivery of all age services. - Lead the toddler group and associated evangelism to local parents. - Lead a new after-school club/group at St Matthew's for children/young people. - Develop with the wider ministry team courses and groups for people exploring/new to Christian faith. - Assist in the wider ministry of the church as required. 2. In Local Schools - Help lead and deliver collective worship in conjunction with the clergy team. - Lead and co-ordinate weekly lunchtime clubs in schools. - Deliver and support RE Lessons as required by the schools. - Organise and lead Church visits by local school children. 3. In our Family of Churches - Help lead our monthly joint church youth group for 13-18s. - Help to arrange opportunities for 11-18s from all three churches to attend Christian residential holidays, - Connect the Churches with other local Christian initiatives such as CAP and Safe Families.
