Chief Executive Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and faith-driven CEO to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight. This is a pivotal role for someone who can inspire, mobilise, and steward the organisation into its next chapter of growth and impact.

Responsibilities

- Lead the organisation, shaping culture and supporting staff wellbeing. - Develop and deliver our vision and strategy in partnership with the Board of Trustees. - Ensure compliance with SCIO governance and OSCR requirements. - Oversee finances, fundraising, and operational delivery. - Build strong partnerships with churches, funders, and community organisations. - Represent Edinburgh City Mission publicly, embodying our values and mission.

Required skills

- A committed Christian with a clear understanding of the Gospel and its application in community transformation. - Proven leadership experience in a charity, faith-based organisation, or similar context. - Strong strategic thinking and organisational management skills. - Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. - Experience in fundraising and financial oversight. - Ability to inspire and mobilise volunteers and partners. - Proven experience in charity or faith-based leadership.

Other

Knowledge of Edinburgh's social and spiritual landscape, SCIO governance experience, and prior experience of working in a CEO role or equivalent are also desirable.
