Undergraduate Student Worker

Responsibilities

Pastoral care of undergraduate student members of the church family under the oversight, and with the support, of a member of the church's leadership team and alongside the female Undergraduate Student Worker. Serving our regular weekly groups for undergraduate students. o Delivery of an appropriate teaching programme for small group Bible studies (Focus). o Selecting and training small group leaders. Working alongside the undergraduate student staff team, including a female colleague and Ministry Assistants. Involvement in leading 'Ledbury' (annual conference for undergraduate students). Act as link between undergraduate student ministry and the wider church family, seeking to encourage the wider church to be involved in the ministry to students. Foster and encourage external partnerships with other groups and churches involved in student ministry within Oxford. o Encourage and support the Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union (OICCU). o Liaise with college chaplains as appropriate.

Required skills

A committed Evangelical Christian who enthusiastically affirms our Basis of Faith. A man of godliness and integrity who is growing in character, as described in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5. Experience of and gifts in pastoral care and ministry. Some ministry training, such as a local Ministry Training Course.

Ability to mentor volunteers for ministry.
