Pastoral responsibility for undergraduate student members of the church family. Overall responsibility for our regular weekly groups for undergraduate students: o Planning and delivery of an appropriate teaching programme for small group Bible studies (Focus). o Selecting and training small group leaders. Leading and managing the undergraduate student staff team, including a female colleague and Ministry Assistants. Overall responsibility for planning and delivery of 'Ledbury' (annual conference for undergraduate students). Act as link between undergraduate student ministry and the wider church family, seeking to encourage the wider church to be involved in the ministry to students. Develop and maintain external partnerships with other groups and churches involved in student ministry within Oxford. o Encourage and support the Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union (OICCU). o Liaise with college chaplains as appropriate. In order to give sufficient time to this ministry within a half-time framework, Sunday preaching responsibilities would be infrequent, particularly during university term time.
A committed Evangelical Christian who enthusiastically affirms our Basis of Faith.A man of godliness and integrity who is growing in character, as described in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5. Experience of and gifts in pastoral care and ministry. Theologically trained (to degree level).
Ability to train and mentor staff and volunteers for ministry.
