An exciting, challenging and rewarding role has opened up at Holy Trinity Wallington for someone to join our staff team as a senior leader to help us as a church family turn our vision for the church and its facilities into reality.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities (for part time and full-time candidate) 1) To create and oversee PCC-agreed plans so that the church works towards achieving its vision. 2) To oversee the strategy and delivery of marketing and lettings of the church's facilities in line with the vision and purpose of the church 3) To ensure professional upkeep, maintenance and effective financial management of the operations of the church and Trinity Centre, ensuring compliance with all operational statutory requirements and maintenance of policies 4) To be the ultimate point of contact for all operational issues for the church. 5) To lead an operations staff team to ensure excellence in administration and organisation 6) To oversee, with and on behalf of the Vicar, the HR Responsibilities of the employed staff at Holy Trinity: i) The creation and updating of staff contracts, job descriptions, recruitment processes (when required) and line management ii) To work with external agencies (e.g. Payroll, HR advisors, HMRC, and Pension Fund) to maintain up-to-date information about the staff team. iii) To assist the Vicar and PCC in the event of Disciplinary processes being started 7) To enable the management of teams and recruitment of volunteers to serve within the church 8) To oversee the Safer Recruitment of staff and volunteers to ensure compliance with Safeguarding Policies and Procedures 9) To make best use of IT, web and social media throughout the church. 10) To play a full part in the worshipping community of the staff team, including the leading of worship, bible study and prayers in staff meetings Additional key responsibilities (for full time candidate) 1) Oversight and responsibility for all the internal and external communications of the church to ensure it helps to achieve the church's vision 2) Proactively develop church facilities and activities for use and support of mission and outreach

Required skills

The essential qualities of the successful candidate are: Christian Character and Personal Qualities: 1) Have a strong love and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, be a mature Christian of godly character with a deep love for God's word, God's church and a desire to serve him wholeheartedly in your whole life. 2) Commitment to and agreement with, Holy Trinity Church's vision, beliefs and values 3) Display the spiritual gifts of administration and leadership 4) A heart to share the gospel with those who do not yet believe in Jesus, including those in the parish of Holy Trinity Wallington 5) You are able to work effectively as part of a team with people different from yourself Experience: 1) Have significant experience in operational work at a senior level 2) Have a significant grasp on the workings of the Church of England and Anglican Church settings. 3) Experience of leadership in a Christian church. Skills: 1) Leadership and team skills including ability to motivate and implement change 2) Strategic, organisational and management skills including short, medium and long term planning 3) Excellence in communication both written and verbal 4) Ability to cope with multiple demands and work under pressure to deadlines 5) Understanding of financial management, lettings/hire and building operations 6) Ability to understand, use and ensure best use of IT, web, social media and media technology to aid communication and operation Special conditions: 1) Ability to work some evenings and weekends The desirable qualities of the successful candidate are: 1) Have spent time within the Church of England and Anglican Church settings 2) Be willing to become a member of Holy Trinity Church 3) A degree level qualification in some area of business

Other

- It is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) of the post that the post holder will be a Christian (and preferably a communicant member of the Church of England) in full sympathy with the aims and ethos of the parish's vision and values. - There is a 6-month probationary period and 3-month notice period. - Subject to satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service
