We're looking for a gospel worker with a heart for evangelism to join as our second staff member (taking over from our current church-based evangelist), either as a church-based evangelist, a youth & families worker, or some combination of those two roles.
We are a small evangelical parish church in a very multi-cultural part of North London (N22) with many more gospel opportunities than we have capacity to take. We're looking for a gospel worker with a heart for evangelism to join as our second staff member to - help us identify, prioritise & make the most of the disciple-making opportunities God has given us - excite & equip the church family to take them with you, and - model a life lived wholeheartedly for Jesus as part of our church family. If that might be you, we'd love to have a conversation. The current post-holder is a church-based evangelist with a focus on local community outreach with non-English speakers, men and youth (including TESOL classes & door knocking). His predecessor was a families worker focused on reaching and discipling local parents and their children. We see a continuing need for both ministries, and – since we are a paid staff team of two – are able to be flexible. For that reason, rather than limit who might join us, we are open to a conversation and application for either role, or a suitable combination of both. Because there's lots of gospel need and opportunity, we will look to tailor the final role around the gifts, experience and passions of a godly individual or household, in order to make the most of what you bring & what we have, to find & feed Christ's sheep in & around Wood Green.
Experience and a heart for disciple-making in a multi-cultural setting and/or with people with English as a second-language would be helpful, as we are prayerfully committed to reflecting the full breadth of the local communities we are seeking to reach.
We would consider a married couple combining to do one FTE role (potentially alongside theological training, parenting and/or other paid work), or a role that was initially part-time (potentially alongside training) that could grow to become fulltime. The role description will require that the successful applicant(s) believe, teach and live in line with CEEC Statement of Faith. (It is an occupational requirement that the post-holder(s) be Christian).
