An opportunity for someone to serve God at the Mission Church, gaining experience of Church ministry, doing relevant theological study, whilst also exploring their own personal calling.
Study responsibility: The trainee will be funded through the 'Graduate Diploma in Kingdom Theology', a part-time 2 year course taught by Westminster Theological Centre (WTC) through their Aberdeen Hub. Ministry responsibility: The trainee will have hands-on experience with a variety of different activities at the Mission Church (e.g. preaching , small groups, pastoral visits, community work) This will aim to encourage them into new areas as well as reflect the strengths and personality they bring to the programme.
The ideal ministry trainee will be: - Someone who is committed to Jesus. They will have experience in christian service, displaying good people skills, and an aptitude for gospel focussed ministry. - Someone who is servant hearted and willing to learn. They will acknowledge the authority of God's word and have a desire to grow in spiritual maturity. - Someone who is exploring christian ministry as a future career prospect. - Someone who is a team worker. They are able to contribute confidently as well as work alongside others. Due to the expectations of the academic study, the trainee would typically be a University graduate. But we also value those who come with some life experience, either through employment or voluntary work.
Ministry trainees will need to raise support for the cost of their own accommodation and living expenses. The Mission Church will cover the cost of the theological training (including reading materials and study expenses).
