We are prayerfully seeking to appoint a full time or part time youth minster to lead and develop our ministry among young people at St John's, an evangelical Anglican church in the village of Felbridge.
- Have oversight of the youth and children's work at St John's with a specific focus on 11-18s. - Promote and foster connections between parents and leaders. - Ensure appropriate equipping, training, and support for leaders. - Ensure St John's complies with safeguarding policies in all its youth and children's work. - Be a key contact for the leaders of the youth and children's groups. - Have oversight and ensure the continuity of the teaching programs across the youth and children's work. - Implement an annual calendar of events for St John's youth and children including overseeing and organising trips and residentials. - Seek to reach out to youth and children in the community and equip others to do so. - Endeavour to make St John's welcoming to youth from outside the church family, particularly on a Friday evening. - Possible line management of other staff members involved in youth/children's work. - Seek to develop relationships with local schools
- A committed Christian faith that informs all areas of life. - Commitment to the vision and aims of St John's - A passion for working with young people and desire for them to come to know Christ. - A firm belief in the Bible as the word of God - An understanding of youth culture and an ability to apply biblical truth to the pressures put on young people by the world today. - Good communication skills - Experience working with young people aged 11-18 - Ministry training or a willingness to undergo training on the job. - Good organisational skills - Confidence in leading a team and humility in learning and serving as part of a team. - Commitment to Safeguarding
