We are looking for an outgoing individual who is passionate about churches and individuals being involved in global mission. Based in Northern Ireland, you will fulfil a vital role by developing global mission engagement with churches and individuals.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong relationships with church leaders, so Crosslinks is viewed as a valued partner in the work of cross-cultural mission. - Make regular Sunday visits (morning and/or evening) and midweek visits to teach with a global mission focus in churches and elsewhere. - Develop engagement with churches by creatively providing appropriate programmes of global mission education for churches, deepening existing mission partnerships and enabling new ones to develop. - Build a network of members and advocates for Crosslinks in Ireland, providing volunteers with appropriate support and resources. - Raise awareness of global gospel needs within churches, theological colleges, Christian Unions, and other groups and networks. Create opportunities to do this in churches and at events, with particular focus on mobilising the next generation of gospel workers. - Represent Crosslinks at relevant events e.g. conferences, church leader gatherings etc., in order to promote Crosslinks' work and opportunities for engagement. - Maintain a record of communications, contacts and relevant information on Crosslinks' database. - Contribute appropriately to other events e.g. prayer meetings, regional meetings, conferences etc. - Participate in staff residential conferences and staff meetings. - All other reasonable requests made by the Ireland Team Leader in the fulfilment of Crosslinks' objectives in Ireland.

Required skills

Personal qualities Required - A committed Christian (a genuine occupational requirement under section 7 (3) of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief Regulations 2003), taking an active role in the local church, living a godly lifestyle, prepared to align themselves with and sign the Crosslinks 'Basis of the Society'. - Supportive of Crosslinks' mission and objectives with a heart for cross-cultural mission and mission partners. - Have a clear and biblical understanding of mission and the role of a mission society. - Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to understand and relate positively to a wide range of people, including those from different cultures and theological backgrounds. - Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise workload. - Ability to deal with confidential, sensitive, and personal information. Experience, knowledge and skills Required - Demonstrable Bible handling skills. - Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and oral. An ability to communicate in a way that is gospel-focused and grace-driven. - Excellent written and presentation skills. - Excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to handle deadlines against changing/conflicting priorities. - Proven ability to work effectively with different age groups. - Willing and able to occasionally work outside normal office hours (e.g. weekends) to fulfil specific programme/Crosslinks needs. - Ability to use common office-based IT systems (Microsoft Teams, Microsoft, Office, Zoom etc) and adapt to new systems. Desirable - Experience of identifying, recruiting, training and mobilising volunteers. - Experience of creating resources for use in churches. - Experience of a cross-cultural long or short-term placement would be an advantage. - Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and office environment, liaising effectively at all levels. - Good understanding of the Church in the UK and Ireland. Qualifications and training Required - A minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent qualifications at Grades A-C, including English Language and Mathematics. Desirable - Educated to degree level or its equivalent. - Theological qualifications at any level. The successful applicant must: - have the right to work in the UK - have a full, clean UK driving license - provide their own vehicle (mileage allowance paid) - have a clear Access NI history regarding suitability to work with children. - be able to undertake occasional travel within the UK and Ireland. - be able to undertake occasional overseas travel.

The Purpose of the Role The Mission Engagement Coordinator will work with the Ireland Team Leader to engage with churches using a coordinated programme of meetings, events and speaking engagements to promote global mission and the work of Crosslinks. Specifically, the Mission Engagement Coordinator will deepen partnerships with churches and individuals by coordinating and developing programmes to creatively involve whole church families in global mission. This job will require an ability to teach and apply the Bible to people of all ages.
