Our ministry training programme aims to help you grow spiritually through serving the church and studying the Bible. There is flexibility to develop in ministries across church life, as well as have formal training from Cornhill or another suitable course.

Responsibilities

The St. Patrick's Ministry Trainee Programme is a great opportunity to learn and grow as a follower of Jesus through studying the Bible and serving God's Church. The programme will be developed in partnership between the ministry trainee and the line manager – taking into account existing ministry experiences, areas you might like to grow in and specific needs in the church. Upon successful application you will also undertake external training such as the Cornhill Training Course or alternative suitable provision. The exact training will be agreed with the line manager following appointment. The key aims of the role are: - To train, teach and equip men, women and children to serve Christ effectively wherever they may be. - To support St Patrick's as it seeks to reach out to the local community and make Jesus known. There are three main areas which make up the programme: 1. Serving Opportunities could include the following; youth & children's ministry; being part of the music group; audio & visuals; supporting our comms strategy; and more practical tasks such as moving chairs and tables and assisting the leadership team. There will be opportunities to serve and develop ministries that suit your gifts as well as in areas where we have needs. 2. Formal Study Spending one day a week engaging in study, such as the Cornhill Training Course or alternative, upon acceptance. Making time throughout the week, approximately two to three hours, for personal reading and study. 3. Pastoral Regular meetings with a mentor who will support and guide you as you serve at St Patrick's. We hope that this will be a time of God transforming you to be more like Christ. Developing an ability to form appropriate pastoral relationships and providing Biblical guidance to others. This will happen under the supervision of the Vicar. Playing an active role in a Home Group.
