We are seeking to appoint an additional Pastor who will develop and support the ministry operations of the church, alongside the Lead Pastor
This strategic role will be a blend of pastoral and operational responsibilities. In this role you will SERVE on the elder team in pastoral duties including - Pastoral care and discipleship - Preaching (around 12 Sunday mornings per year) - Leading Sunday worship and other events DEVELOP new and existing ministries alongside the Lead Pastor and oversee their operation EQUIP, train and support members to serve the Gospel in the church and community LEAD the operations of the church, working with the church treasurer, admin assistant and ministry teams to ensure the church is sound operationally and financially, and compliant with regulation (including HR, risk management, health and safety, data protection). MANAGE volunteers and staff, and pastorally care for them in their ministry operations so that they flourish.
You will be able to evidence both pastoral and administrative skills, including -preaching and teaching the Bible and engaging in theological discussion -giving biblical counsel and pastoral care -supervising, motivating and managing volunteers -organising skills, such as maintaining proper records and responding flexibly to changes at short notice -budgeting and financial management
You will be a person who -has a Christlike love for church members and a desire to see them flourish in the Gospel -has a reputation for integrity, humility, diplomacy, servant heartedness, teachability and commitment -has a desire to grow as a disciple of Christ, committed to God's word and in prayerful dependence on Him -has enthusiasm to work in the pastoral and staff teams, and in gospel relationships outside the church -is a self-starter and committed to see projects through to the end The role will require full participation in church life, and the successful candidate must therefore be eligible for church membership (in accordance with the Church's doctrinal position on membership), and supportive of the Church's vision, mission and theological convictions, all of which are available online and on request. In accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, we consider we have an occupational requirement to employ someone in this role who is a Christian and eligible to be a full member of the church.
