Full-time £26000-£30000 / year

Kiltarlity Free Church (IV4 7JQ)

Date posted: 19th February 2025
Application ends: 31st March 2025

We are seeking a full time female community and family worker who will support the vision of the congregation - to grow a vibrant, all-age community of followers of Jesus.

Responsibilities

The Worker will: - Work with Young Life International as a part-time worker (2 days per week) – leading and facilitating effective Youth Ministry to the unchurched in our community and coordinating a team of volunteer leaders. This will also involve taking young people to Young Life International summer camps. - Be engaged in building relationships with the wider community and seek to connect folk to the church community. - Lead and develop women's ministry within the congregation – seeking to involve other women in this work – women ministering to women. It is envisioned that the worker will be a catalyst to get other volunteers involved in these ministries.

Required skills

Due to the nature of the role, we are seeking a female worker. She will: - Have a strong Christian commitment and be sympathetic to the doctrines of the Free Church of Scotland and Young Life International. - Be committed to the vision of Kiltarlity Free Church (including an understanding of how the work of Young Life International relates to that vision) and demonstrate a capacity and capability for working flexibly and responsively to events. - Be able to communicate the gospel clearly to young people (especially those with no prior exposure to Christianity). - Have good inter-personal skills and also be able to communicate well via social media. - Will be able to work well as part of a team and also to work on their own initiative, planning and organising their workload.

Other

Kiltarlity Free Church is a growing congregation situated in a growing rural community 12 miles from Inverness. The vision of Kiltarlity Free Church is to grow a vibrant, all-age community of followers of Jesus. The congregation is comprised of a diverse range of people from different church backgrounds and in terms of age and stage. Our Sunday morning service regularly has over 70 in-person (if everyone who regularly attends was there on the same Sunday there would be 85 including 25 children). A quarter of the congregation consists of children in creche and Sunday School (Primary Age). We also have a number of teenagers and an active Teens' Group (primarily focused on those who already have a connection with the church). For a number of years, we have also supported the work of Young Life International reaching out to unchurched young people in the community.
