We are seeking a godly woman to serve as a youth minister alongside our experienced existing youth minister at St Nicholas.

Responsibilities

We have a vibrant and growing youth work at St Nicholas and exciting opportunities to grow this work through discipling those who come on Sundays and to our midweek groups and by seeking to reach out in the many secondary schools in Sevenoaks. Main Responsibilities To maintain spiritual growth, particularly by giving time to prayer and the study of the Scriptures. To engage heart and mind through deeper communion with Jesus, wide reading and development of ministry skills through regular training. Discipleship of older female teenagers. Finding creative ways to increase gospel outreach in secondary schools in Sevenoaks. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES To support the youth minister in Sunday ministry across the St Nicholas congregations and at midweek meetings.

Required skills

A woman of clear personal faith who is committed to prayerful obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ: - who can faithfully teach God's Word and communicate clearly and effectively within different settings, such as small groups and one-to-one, both to young people of strong faith and none. - who is passionate about youth ministry, and the opportunity to disciple the next generation and to reach those who do not yet know the Lord Jesus. - who has knowledge and experience of the pastoral issues and apologetics questions that are relevant to today's teenagers. - who is a theologically conservative evangelical, committed to the authority of Scripture, with a passion for the gospel and for drawing people to the Lord Jesus Christ. - who has 1-2 years+ experience working for a school or church-related ministry with teenagers. A PGCE or one or more years of theological training would be advantageous, though we would be open to making further theological training available.
