Church Planter

To identify areas of West Kent/East Sussex into which a new church can be planted, or congregation members grafted into and become lead Pastor of the church plant.

Responsibilities

In liaison with the vicar and ministry team, develop a church plant or graft(s) strategy and plan. Move with members of the church family to become lead Pastor of the church plant. Identify, nurture and train church family members being "sent" to the new congregation. Develop and propose suitable employment, legal and organisation structures for the church plant. Preach the bible faithfully and upholding biblical orthodoxy. Play a lead role in St John's Church together with the Vicar and Associate Vicar. Model faithful Christian witness and holy living. Lead and enable effective evangelism.

Required skills

Has a proven track record of expository ministry that is clear and connects with people's day-to-day lives Has led a team or a significant ministry area within a church or in the secular workplace Has demonstrated a commitment to training and developing leaders, lay and ordained, staff and volunteers, male and female Has received theological training in a college/university to at least Cornhill Core level

Other

Commitment to safeguarding and a culture of care. Strong leadership skills with the ability to Pastor a church and inspire others. Good organisational skills. Ability to lead and manage a project with strength of character and courage to overcome obstacles and cope with set backs
