Immanuel Church Brentford is seeking our next Senior Minister. Our vision is to be a vibrant, reformed church in Brentford and for Brentford.
The minister will be expected to undertake the usual functions of the senior Teaching Elder, including: - Regular preaching and administering sacraments at morning and evening worship - Chairing the Session (including regular business and prayer meetings) - Participating in pastoral care alongside the Session - Working with the Session to undertake the 'leadership admin' of the church - Worship planning (examples of recent Orders of Service are provided for reference) - Chair AGMs, Church meetings and prepare and deliver the 'Session report' at same
- The new minister will be a man qualified to hold the biblical office of elder - He will hold or be able to obtain certification as a Teaching Elder in the UK English-speaking presbytery of the International Presbyterian Church - He will have the following characteristics: - Pastoral sensitivity - Gentle and strong leadership approach - Be committed to personal evangelism - Be a strong expository preacher - He will be happy to operate in line with Immanuel Church's values - He will be happy to undertake the specific responsibilities outlined in the prospectus
