We are seeking a female youth minister to both support our existing youth work, and to develop and pioneer an evangelistic outreach to secondary schools in Sevenoaks.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES To maintain your own spiritual growth, particularly by giving time to prayer and the study of the Scriptures. To engage your heart and mind through deeper communion with Jesus, wide reading and development of ministry skills through regular training. To strengthen current secondary school ties in the Sevenoaks area and establish new ones, especially, but not limited to, newly established schools. To work with Christian teachers to help equip them in their work, to establish outreach programmes for secondary school pupils and to nurture/equip those with faith. Discipleship of older female teenagers. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES To support the existing Youth Minister by engaging with teenage girls in our groups for school years 7-13 across the different congregations as well as midweek meetings.
A woman of clear personal faith who is committed to prayerful obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Someone who can faithfully teach God's Word and communicate clearly and effectively within a school or church setting, in small groups and one-to-one, and who can connect and interact with young people of strong faith and none. Someone who is passionate about youth ministry - especially evangelism and who is humble, friendly, approachable and compassionate, especially when dealing with the vulnerable and those in need of pastoral support. Someone with knowledge and experience of the pastoral issues and apologetics questions that are relevant to today's teenagers. A theologically conservative evangelical, committed to the authority of Scripture, with a passion for the gospel and for drawing people to the Lord Jesus Christ. 1-2 years+ experience working for a school or church related ministry with teenagers. 1+ years of theological training advantageous though with the option for further training. PGCE advantageous.
