Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility The profile below is not exhaustive, but aims to provide an overview of what the role will involve. The order in which these tasks are detailed does not reflect their respective importance. The demands of the role will be regularly reviewed with the role holder. Operations Assist the church leaders, Associate Leader and Director of Operations with administration tasks Provide support with implementing new processes and procedures to ensure smooth running of Sunday services, church and community events, and midweek programmes Assist with maintaining Job Descriptions, sending out formal letters and contracts Set up new starters on St Peter's system, provide inductions and training where required for new starters Carry out DBS checks for staff and volunteers Organise exit interviews where required Oversee the welcome and hospitality rotas for all back of house teams and organise socials and training for all volunteers in welcome and hospitality To be on duty throughout the Morning service and external and internal events to troubleshoot problems. Will on occasion be required to be duty person for the evening service. Assist the Facilities Lead where required with bookings of the church building Order and restock supplies for activities and events Ensure the kitchens and cafés are stocked weekly for Sundays and mid-week community events Liaise with suppliers of goods/services to the church; negotiating better prices/terms where appropriate Work with the Facilities Lead to ensure set up and set down is done for events and activities in the building and the vicarage. Assist with the planning and the execution of the annual church plan and annual operations plan Be the first point of contact for the Diocese for all admin related issues Manage the main church mailbox Open and distribute the post Assist the church leader with baptisms, weddings and funerals including administrative support in preparing certificates and processing requests for BANNS publications. Provide ??admin support with villages Provide support for the Comms lead, and maybe required to update social media, the website and newsletter. Support the secretary in running the APCM by preparing documents for the meetings where required. Maybe required to attend PCC meetings and take and/or distribute minutes. Provide administrative support to Love Brockley Finance Create Xero bills and invoices and upload receipts and/backing documents, and reconcile bills and invoices monthly. Assist staff with Dona, Stripe and Izettle machines and ensure they are maintained and functional Assist with maintaining churchsuite giving and attendance of church members and mid-week community events. Work with Finance Manager and Director of Ops to provide bookkeeping support Oversee the timely operation and upkeep of accounting systems in accordance with financial procedures Deposit cash when required. Assist with Payroll processing when required General Provide operational support to the Events Lead whenever required Assist with maintaining the Fixed Asset Register. Ensure that at all times data from church attendees, staff, volunteers and buildings is kept confidentially. Participate in supervision, training and meetings as required Work across teams as required and appropriate. Where required, provide support to the wider network of churches, including by providing advice to counterparts in network churches Assist with creating and maintaining an electronic filing system Replenish supplies both perishable and non. Troubleshoot where required any office and kitchen based equipment Duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. Such variations are a common occurrence and cannot of themselves justify a reconsideration of the grading of the post.

Experience Has experience working in a fast paced environment Ability to prioritise under pressure with competing demands Skills Is a skilled user of Microsoft, Google Workspace and Xero (or similar accounting software) Willing and able to learn new skills as required Able to work flexible hours Is able to manage multiple accounts at the same time Faith An active member of the St Peter's family or prepared to join the church Desirable Experience of coordinating people - staff, volunteers and other stakeholders Project management skills Previous experience of working in a church context Experience of working with charity accounts.
