Youth Worker

We are looking for someone to join the staff team as a youth worker. The overall purpose of the role is to make disciples of young people in and outside the church by prayerfully training them in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

- Oversight of ministry with 11–18-year-olds. - Leading youth leader teams. - Teaching and training - Development of the programme. - Working with the Children's Minister. - Ensuring a safe environment.

Required skills

Proven ability to teach, lead and pastor young people. Good interpersonal skills with people of all ages and ability to lead volunteers. Good organisation, communication and administrative skills and a track record of reliability. A good understanding and appreciation of the additional needs of young people and an ability to show sensitivity around youth with challenging personal circumstances or responding to controversial issues. Willingness to take initiative, explore new approaches, be creative in communicating the gospel but under the direction of the associate minister and accountable to the PCC.
