We are seeking to appoint a Minister in Training / Assistant Minister to assist the vicar and wider Church Family in our vision: we want to see North Walthamstow transformed by Jesus one life at a time.

Responsibilities

We hope the ministry can develop in line with your own gifting. But we expect the role to include: * Growing and making disciples among Men and Young People of all ages and stages * Providing pastoral care among Men and Young People in the Church Family * Equipping Men and Young People for ministry and evangelism through teaching the Bible in a variety of contexts and to a range of ages e.g. preaching, leading services, Bible Studies, 1-2-1s, training courses, St John's Sports Club, Youth and Children's work, Schools ministries etc. * Supporting the Vicar and Women and Families' Worker in the day to day leadership and activities of the Church – attending staff meetings, prayer meetings, PCC and Church events * Mucking in with the general running of the Church e.g. practical and administrative tasks

Required skills

First and foremost, we are looking for someone to be a member of our Church Family – someone eager to grow as a disciple of Jesus and eager to see people rescued and transformed by Jesus. You will use your gifts to serve Jesus and His people – just as we encourage all followers of Jesus to do. We also expect you to spend time each day in personal Bible reading and prayer. We are looking for a spiritually mature man who shares our (complementarian) conservative evangelical convictions, who will report to the Vicar and be trained to take the lead in growing and making disciples among Men, Families and School Children in our congregations, parish and beyond.

Other

* The Church undertakes to strive to be an excellent employer. We are eager to love you, support you and delight in seeing you grow in Christ. We will strongly encourage you to spend adequate time resting, relaxing, spending time with Family, friends and non-Christians. We will provide you with time and money for appropriate ongoing training, supervision and support - within the Church Family and beyond * We will provide you with a generous package, commensurate with experience, including money towards accommodation as required, and opportunities for personally tailored further training.
