Assistant Minister

We are looking for a non-ordained godly and prayerful man to serve as our assistant minister at St Mary's, Balderstone in Rochdale to start August/September 2024. For details see: https://www.stmarysbalderstone.org.uk/about-us/current-vacancies

Responsibilities

- Equipping adults of all ages to grow as disciples of Jesus through leading Bible studies and growing new leaders - Putting prayer at the heart of ministry life, including joining weekly prayer gatherings and occasionally leading prayer gatherings - Being active in evangelism in the parish and equipping church members in evangelism - Developing a ministry of preaching and leading church services - Helping to develop our children's, youth and families' ministry - To be primarily based at St Mary's Balderstone and also working in partnership with Christ Church & St Saviour's Chadderton

Required skills

- Ready to take significant leadership responsibility in church life - Committed to making disciple-making disciples of Jesus Christ - Evidence of gifting for pastoral ministry, including preaching - An ability to engage and communicate effectively with children, teenagers and young adults - A warm-hearted, humble, collaborative servant-leader - A diligent and well-organised worker who can manage his own workload - An ability and enthusiasm for working with people from a diverse range of cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds - An ability to use social media to communicate and promote ministry initiatives

Other

- Formal ministry training (preferably a theological qualification although training on a Gospel Partnerships Ministry Training Course, the Cornhill Training Course, or a similar course, would be considered) - There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for this post to be occupied by an evangelical Christian man - Enhanced DBS with Barred list checked (Children & Adult Workforce) required. - Housing allowance available
