Children and Young People's Worker

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities are the discipleship of young people and children in the church, support of their families, outreach to young families in the community and leading a growing team of volunteers.

Required skills

Pastoral skills, relational skills with children and young people (e. g. games, building trust), passion for their spiritual growth, desire to share the Gospel with them, ability to answer questions they have from the Bible, humility, desire to work with others (both leading others and being led by others), wise pastoral boundaries, awareness of and ability to work with the Safeguarding framework of the Church of England, effective risk assessments

Other

Wise and effective use of social media to publicise and communicate events, ability to use basic functions in Canva to create publicity material, some experience in communicating Christian truths in powerful and sensitive ways to young people who are exploring complex relational and theological issues
