Penwith Deanery is looking to employ a small team of talented Youth, Children and Young Families Workers who will work together across our deanery to grow the work amongst this demographic in our parishes.

Responsibilities

- Establish and enhance youth and children's work in the deanery, including midweek groups, youth clubs, and Sunday youth and children's groups such as: Monthly Messy Church, Muddy Church, Intergenerational faith communities including environmental care. - Facilitate networking in the Penwith deanery to support family-oriented initiatives in local churches, schools, and among young people. - Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other churches and community organisations. - Establish and nurture connections between local schools and churches in the deanery, making the church a visible and positive presence in education sector. - Foster an environment that encourages personal spiritual growth among young people. Lead and participate in prayer sessions, bible studies, and other activities that nurture their faith and relationship with God. - Encourage and facilitate the involvement of young people in the worshipping life of the church. This could include participating in services, leading prayers, and being involved in music or other creative expressions of worship. - Develop accessible opportunities for children and families in low-income communities to engage with church. This might include holiday clubs, 'Who Let the Dads Out', or youth events based around music or sport or outdoor activities. - Collaborate with local schools and community groups to identify and bridge gaps in youth services and support. Actively develop and implement strategies and programs focused on enhancing life skills, participation, and leadership opportunities for young people. - Encourage and support the well-being of individuals and families in a Christian context, including resource creation/signposting on nurturing selfesteem and positive relationships with family, community and the world we live in. - Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with initiatives and activities for children and young people. - Collaborate with others in the deanery to develop a vision for children's and youth ministry and ensure its communication to the wider deanery. - Manage essential administration for children's and youth work and ensure compliance with relevant policies such as safeguarding and health and safety. - Undertake other duties, as may be required from time to time, to ensure the effective and efficient fulfilment of the role.

We are particularly looking for someone with a heart for those living in deprivation and feeling the effects of social inequality, who has a gift for understanding children and young people and who can work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
