Trustees of the Sussex Gospel Partnership are looking to appoint a new Director, ideally to start Summer 2024. The successful candidate will develop this ongoing partnership of our network of churches in Sussex.

Responsibilities

The role of Director will include: Developing the partnership - Enthusing our churches with the SGP vision and championing gospel partnership - Reigniting engagement with SGP by our existing churches and recruiting new churches - Encouraging implementation of partnership at the local level by coordinating and developing our termly partnership meetings and training days, an annual retreat, and the SGP conference - Supporting our local churches as they partner together in many different ways Supporting leaders - Mentoring church leaders and developing a mentoring team in conjunction with retired ministers - Supporting and encouraging those who run SGP wives Delivering training - Developing and delivering the training courses - Liaising and working in partnership with our existing part time Associate Trainer; and to review the delivery of these courses Overseeing the charity - Overseeing the administrative aspects to the charity and compliance with charity law - Supervising our part time administrator The Director reports to the Trustees and will meet regularly with the Steering Committee

Required skills

Necessary: Your faith - Mature Christian faith in good standing and endorsed by your local church leaders - In agreement with the SGP and regional gospel partnership basis of faith - Commitment and submission to a local church in the SGP Your training and experience - Formal theological training - Knowledge of the region and its evangelical churches - At least five years' experience as senior/lead pastor or similar role, with substantial teaching and training experience - An ability to demonstrate a commitment to developing one's own theological understanding Your gifts - A passion for training gospel workers - Excitement about God's growing Kingdom in our local churches - Wisdom, ability and sensitivity to navigate Anglican and independent church issues - An appropriate level of gospel inclusivity, to draw in people with secondary, non-salvation differences - An ability to relate well to people from a wide range of backgrounds - Ability to travel across Sussex and beyond Desirable: - Living centrally within the Partnership area - Committed to the long-term development of the Partnership - Degree level or above theological training
