Assistant Minister for Music

St Mary's is an Anglican conservative evangelical church in the centre of Basingstoke. We are looking for someone who will serve the congregation by coordinating, leading, and developing musicians to lead people in singing with thanksgiving to the Lord.

Responsibilities

- Oversight of music across various services. - Leading and playing at services - Support, teaching and train teams of volunteers - Development of music to support the wider ministry of the church - Planning one-off community events. - Overseeing the technical support teams.

Required skills

The ideal candidate would: - Have a proven ability to lead, manage and develop different people with empathy, sensitivity and gentleness. - Be a servant-hearted leader who can minister under the direction of another, work well with other staff members and support the wider ministry of the church. - Have a proven ability to read music and play an instrument (or sing) to a high standard. - Be a reliable person with good organisation, communication, and administrative skills.

Other

We are open to combining this position with another ministry responsibility, such as children and youth, or creative ministry, to create a full-time role (depending on experience). There is an occupational requirement that the post-holder be a Christian.
