We have a vacancy for a full-time 8-13s position to join our Children's Youth and Families Team at Wycliffe Baptist Church. There are regular Sunday and mid-week, groups, as well as annual residentials and events for this age group.

Responsibilities

Ensure that the 8-13s remit contributes to the wider vision, values and strategy of CYF ministry, as well as the over-arching vision, values and priorities of Wycliffe Baptist Church in East Reading Work with the resources available (people, equipment and finance) to plan and deliver ministry for 8-13s with others serving in the same teams, and collaboratively with other pastoral staff and ministry leaders in a wider church context e.g. all age services and children/ youth events/residentials planned for the wider age range. Lead and monitor compliance with safe practice guidance for every aspect of CYF activity: handling data, clear and timely communication, effective administration processes, risk assessments, health and safety, fire plans, first aid, indoors and outdoors dynamics, on-line, mentoring and residentials.

Required skills

A clear enhanced DBS check The post has a genuine occupational requirement that the person is a practising Christian. A 'calling' to this area of work; experience, training, recognised gifting and skill are an advantage. We are looking for someone who understands and is 'caught' by the vision for this area of ministry, lives it, and can champion this vision to others. Openness to the work of the Holy Spirit and the exercising of spiritual gifts is encouraged. Strong relational skills. Not only do we need you to be able to communicate well with others in both spoken and written form we also need you to be approachable and able to listen well. Workload is varied and at times heavy so the ability to prioritise, time manage, use initiative and delegate are useful competencies. Technological competence is an advantage. We use iknow software and Office 365 for communications and to hold and manage data in the church. We have a website and use AV equipment and technology to support and enhance communication.
