Responsibilities

The Association of Grace Baptist Churches (South-East) is both a network of 73 independent Grace Baptist churches, and a charity that supports these churches in their gospel ministry. The charity employs a small staff team to provide property, finance and trustee services as well as running various day and accommodated events to facilitate training and fellowship amongst the churches. The Operations Manager is a new role that will involve the day-to-day management and running of the office including workflow, IT, website, office facilities and contracts. The role is an executive position that will also involve shaping and running various Association events.

Required skills

The role requires a skill set of business administration, project management and communications. It is essential that the appointee is a reformed evangelical Christian with an understanding of Baptist ecclesiology. It is desirable that they are also a member of one of our Association churches. The role covers two essential areas of work and one desirable area although training will be provided. Essential areas: 1. Office Management 1.1 Line manager skills to senior & admin staff (and supporting staff recruitment, reviews, complaints). 1.2 Day to day management and running of the office including workflow, IT, website, and office facilities and contracts. 1.3 Lead in procurement and implementation of a CRM system to manage communications and recording keeping with churches. 2. Events Management 2.1 Operational lead for Association events including Association Day & AGM, Pastors' Overnighter, Saved2Serve, Awareness days & church-based training initiatives. 2.2 Lead in organising the delivery of charity communications and publications including liaison with associated suppliers.

Other

Desirable areas (otherwise the role is to manage outsourced provision) 3. Media Production 3.1 Design & editing for paper and digital communications. 3.2 Design & editing for multimedia communications. Location: based at the offices at 62 Bride St, Islington N7 8AZ. There are occasional needs to travel to visit churches. The role allows for some home working. Hours: 28/35 Hours per week over 4/5 days. Working hours are 7 hours a day with core hours being 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime will be required, sometimes during the evenings and weekends, especially (but not exclusively) for mandatory attendance at GBC Ltd board and Association meetings. Annual leave: 25 days pa (pro rata) + Statutory Bank Holidays Salary: Salary range depending on experience £40,000 - £50,000. A loan is available for annual season tickets. Expenses: you will be reimbursed for reasonable travel and expenses which you may incur in the discharge of your duties. Pension: 7.5% Employers Pension contributions
