Youth worker

Do you want to see young people become committed and growing disciples of Jesus Christ, and have the skills, commitment and personality to achieve this? We are a gospel-oriented church but need to redevelop our youth work from a low base.

Responsibilities

1. To ensure that you give adequate time for private devotion and study so that you might strengthen your own faith and be able to lead and encourage others in their walk with God. (Acts 20:28) 2. To develop and coordinate the current and future youth work in the church. 3. To build relationships with the young people seeking by example and encouragement to see them become saved and/or mature in their faith. 4. To develop leadership skills in the young people. 5. To alert the Pastor and Elders of any concerns you may have regarding the well-being, spiritual or otherwise, of any young person under your care.

Required skills

It is an essential requirement that the Youth Worker be a committed Christian, with their own day to day walk with Christ. The person will have a strong desire to see young people become committed and growing disciples of Jesus Christ, and has the skills, commitment and personality to achieve this.

Other

We are looking for someone who can fulfil the role initially on a part time basis, with hours to suit the candidate. As well as taking care of the current youth activities in the church each Sunday, the successful candidate will oversee the restarting of midweek activities for children and young people. He or she will work with the church's exceptionally devoted team of volunteers to run various groups ministering to young people in the church and beyond.
