Date posted: 1st March 2023
Application ends: 13th March 2023

We are a growing church, seeking to appoint an energetic and gifted pastor and preacher, to work alongside the Rector in pursuit of our 5 priorities: evangelism, discipleship, worship, pastoral care, and reaching the next generation.

Responsibilities

Rather than being left to get on with it as a 'lone ranger', the Team Vicar will work closely and collaboratively with the Team Rector. This will include sharing the regular ministries of: - Planning, leading, and Biblical preaching at Sunday and midweek services - Making disciples and raising up leaders; discerning gifts and equipping God's people for works of service - Sharing the pastoral responsibility and missional opportunity of weddings, funerals and baptisms - Working with the wardens and PCC in the ongoing leadership, management and governance of the church Beyond these, there is considerable scope to tailor the role to suit the gifts and passions of the successful candidate as the church continues to grow.

Required skills

The Team Vicar will be someone who: - Is an ordained minister in the Church of England - Has a deep, mature and tested relationship with God - Has a heart for evangelism, is passionate about sharing the gospel with those on the fringes, and ideally has experience leading the Alpha course - Is a collaborative and humble team player who can inspire and equip volunteers - Is faithful in prayer and reliant on the Holy Spirit - Is a compassionate and self-aware pastor - Is excited by the Word of God and committed to expository Biblical preaching - Is a positive, organised and motivated self-starter
