A training programme that combines theological study while working alongside a staff team in an active, serving church located in Musselburgh, East Lothian.

Responsibilities

We are a growing congregation with plans to plant a new church already in motion. This is an excellent opportunity for any individual who has some ministry experience, Bible handling skills and is now certain that the Lord is calling them to serve the local church. Responsibilities The programme runs from September 2023 up to a maximum of 4 years and there are 3 key elements to the training: Character Development: We are more concerned with your character and your desire to grow more like Jesus than in the gifts and abilities that you bring with you. You will have the opportunity to regularly meet with the pastors to invest in your own spiritual growth. Theological training: in addition to in-house training from senior staff in the church, you'll will be afforded time to study at the Cornhill Training Course, Glasgow or Edinburgh Theological Seminary. Ministry & Serving experience: you will be involved in some of the key ministries such as Sunday services, Bible studies, prayer, youth work, women's work, outreach and evangelism. Working alongside the staff team at MBC there will be lots of opportunities to grow and develop the gifts that God has given to you. You will also have opportunity to serve in a variety of practical ways, including administration and practical tasks necessary for various ministries to run.

Required skills

The right person will Be teachable and committed to learning and growing who is known to display the qualities of Titus 1:3-9 Be able to affirm our church constitution, the Pillar Network statement of faith and supporting documents and be conscientiously baptistic in ecclesiology and baptism. Show enthusiasm for prayer, evangelism, and discipling and caring for God's people; Have some aptitude for the thorough teaching of the Bible to adults, children and youth, and in initiating, leading and equipping people for ministries within the church.
