We are looking to appoint someone to join our team who has a love for the Lord and wants to strengthen his family so that we can offer the good news of Jesus to the unbeliever. We have a vibrant children's work and a growing number of young families.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for children's work for the ages 0 – 11. This will include planning the termly programme, and leading and facilitating co-ordination between the groups. - Our work amongst children and families rests on our strong base of volunteers. This role will be responsible for developing, supporting, coordinating and leading these volunteers, including setting the strategy and direction for children's work and recruiting and ensuring provision of training for volunteer leaders and helpers. - In addition to a number of regular activities, the postholder will be responsible for delivering a number of special family focused events during the year. - Developing and implementing a vision and strategy which supports families as they seek to live in a Jesus-centred way.

Required skills

The successful applicant will be: - an evangelical Christian, able to subscribe to our doctrinal commitment; - a mature, prayerful Christian with good knowledge of the Bible and a strong understanding of the gospel. They will be biblical in doctrine and lifestyle and a model of faithfulness to the Lord Jesus. The successful applicant will have experience of: - leading work with children and families; - leading, motivating and equipping others; - planning and developing programmes for children's work; - offering pastoral care; - delivering biblical teaching; - possess organisational, administrative and planning skills, including basic office computer skills; - be self-motivated whilst also being able to work as part of a team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate to see the whole family nurtured and thriving at the heart of our church family. We want someone with a track record of delivering children's work who can oversee our children's activities, growing and developing our team of volunteers; and who can develop and lead a vision which supports our families as they seek to live in a Jesus-centred way. Salary: £32,000 per annum, pro rata 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE). We are open to flexible working patterns such as working more hours per week in school term time, offset by fewer hours per week in the school holidays. At present we are advertising for two 0.5 roles (Church Manager and Children and Families Minister) and would consider candidates who wanted to apply for them as a combined role.
